International bank accounts

I'm moving to Prague for 5 months or so, and need to set up an international bank account. I will be transferring money from a UK account, and also transferring money to a Czech account. I will be drawing out cash accross Europe and making payments with my card. I will also need to be able to bank online, not just via phone. Am looking for advice on which banks offer best international banking rates and service, as they all seem to have quite different charges for different elements.

Do you actually need a non-UK account? Unless you are working in Prague or have large bills to pay in Koruna it's probably cheaper to find the best UK account

My husband has been working in Praha for 10 years. He opened an account with CSOB in the Czech Republic. Money is paid into that account and he has an arrangement whereby the can transfer money back to our NatWest account in the UK. There is a charge each time he sends money home so we wait until there is a decent figure to send.

Having said all that, whenever he travels he always uses our UK bank accounts. He then "pays" me back IYKWIM.
