Winter Fuel Allowance Deadline

Do you know anyone over 60 who hasn't yet claimed their
Winter Fuel Allowance for 2004/5?

Many people over 60 are entitled to a Government pay out of
between £100 and £300 depending on their circumstance. There
is also an extra £100 one off payment available to the over 70's.
If they received it last year, then all should still be fine.

However, if anything has changed, such as their address,
bank details or the benefits they receive, then they may
need to reapply this year by the deadline of March 30th
in order to receive last years payment.

The telephone helpline is 0845 915 1515, or they can go
online at www.thepensionservice.gov.uk/winterfuel.

I work for the Winter Fuel, the deadline is 31st March, all claims need to be in the office before this day.

I would point out that this mean government says: in order to qualify for the winter fuel allowance you need to be 60 before the 30th September 2004 if you birthday is after 30 Sept. 04 you get NOTHING.
