I agree with the mixture of advice given above. I don't think it matters when you enter the comp.

At the beginning of last year I was unemployed so had plenty of time on my hands. I spent most of my time entering comps as they were posted - I won quite a bit this way. I started full time work in sept so had less time. I've now changed the way I enter. I come to the forum and enter the most recently posted comps then switch to end date view and do the ones closing in a couple days time. I've won 8 competitions already in about 2 weeks.

I don't like to do end date by the "next day" because as others have mentioned comps close early, sometimes comps get moved to game over early and the actual time of closing can vary. I have won comps before their supposed closing date so I know that end dates aren't always reliable.
Also Twitter and Facebook comps can have a very short expiry time; sometimes only a matter of hours. If you only ever entered via end date you could miss these.

It's so much easier now we have the "entered" button. You can quickly see what comps you've entered now and it really helps speed things up. It was the best thing MSE have done for this forum :):):)

I have won two comps now on the day of closing...for instance when i won tickets today i had a phonecall at 1.30 to say id won, on the post it did state 5th jan as closing date so clearly they shut it this morning / midday....same with a win before christmas, i had a wem at 2.00pm to say id won a comp that had ended that morning.

Both of these i had entered a week in advance...glad really as my entry may not have counted on the day
  • Think I have missed something as I have never entered comps on here, where are they all listed?.....I subscribe to a compers mag and enter as and when I have time or remember or feel in the mood - i.e. quite sporadically! BUT I have won a range of FCUK toiletries worth over £150, a weekend in Blackpool, £50 gardening vouchers, a range of Herbal Essence Shampoo/Conditioners, football match tickets via Coca Cola and most recently my best to date - a £500 farmstay break in Cornwall.....that was a lucky dip internet entry for a comp in a parenting magazine.

Scroll down about half way, and below the few sticky threads at the top you will find the start of approx 150 pages of comps - thats a few thousand comps to go through! :D

  • Hiya Nuttynel! I'm not as experienced as others on this board but I just enter randomly as comps get posted and I still seem to manage to win things so I don't think it really matters.

Hopefully you will get a win soon! Good luck! :)
