Hi Guys,
Looking for some help. Have been to Lanzarote 3 times and wanting to try Fuerteventura, however we don't know where best to stay!
We usually stay in PDC at the old town end, (dont like the other end) and like Playa Blanca. What is the best place similar to these...
also is it windier than Lanza? were off April time!
thanks

Hi
We stayed in Caleta de Fuste summer 2010 it is a lovely place with great beach & lots of lovely places to eat & it is very family friendly, flat good pavements cheap buses & taxis etc - on the downside there is a lot of empty apartment complexes the one we stayed in had about 6 other families staying in it and alot of the other complexes were the same, there is alot of unfinished buildings also, this is obviously due to the financial crisis that has affected alot of countries Spain being no exception.
Although this may sound a bit daunting dont let it put you off the place as is it really worth going to - it is quite windy but we found it a welcome breeze as very hot!! Just do good research on where you are going to stay - if you want to know anything else give us a shout

ps Broncamar Beach apartments are nice they were opp us :-)0 -
have a look at trip advisor, they rate all accommodation, also caleta de fuste is less windy than other places, we are off there in 10 days time, hoping for a nice warm break0

We went to Caleta twice within 7 months.
First stayed at the Barcelo Castillo Beach in a superior apartment which was proper lovely. This was in November and we only had one day which was drizzly, other than that it was pukka pies.
Then we went back in July and stayed at the Elba Sara ( we were actually booked into the Elba Carlota). It was very very lovely and the food was gorgeous, but it was alot more expensive.
The Barcello was much closer to the shops, although there was a shopping centre next to the Elba which had a spar etc. Both times we went all inclusive.
I would go back again like a shot.0 -
Thanks guys,
Some good information there. We will probably book a villa as there will be 4 of us (we did this last year in Lanza). Sounds like Corralejo would be an option and will look into Caleta de Fuste also. I will do some research on them... does Corralejo have an "old town" similar to that of PDC?

Corralejo has a bustling centre, but lacks attractive buildings. The flag beach on the southern outskirts of the town is much better than PDC. I personally prefer Corralejo to Caleta which is a bit soulless.0
