JSA -Is it just me with Bank Holiday problem?

Before Christmas I went to sign on at the Job Centre, and was told that I couldn't sign on my next due date on Monday 3rd January, because it was a Bank Holiday on the Monday.

My next sign day would be on Monday 10th January, meaning me to go a week longer for my benefits.

If anyone else should have signed like me on Monday January 3rd, what do you think of this stupid idea, of having to go an extra week before signing again because of the day falling as a Bank Holiday?

People who were due to sign on 3rd will find that the Job Centre has already told their computers that they signed on the 3rd. They'll play catch up with the paperwork the next time you sign on.

But your payment will go in as normal this week.

So why's it such a dumb idea ?

And your next attendance date will be the 17th if you have normal fortnightly signing not the 10th.
