hi all,
i'm new to all this so and was hoping for some expert advice!
I have about £600 of unclaimed dividend from abbey/santander that i need to put somewhere sensible. i've moved address and was at uni etc so they've just tracked me down! quite a nice letter to receive!
the dividend is from 300shares.
although i could just spend the money i thought it might be worth reinvesting into shares....i know its not very much money but does anyone have any advice? has/does anyone use the santander shareholder account? any thoughts? good idea or best avoided?
any advice would be much appreciated.
thanks in advance!

You probably won't get expert advice here, go to a Financial Adviser for that, but people will share their experiences with you.
Would you feel it is sensible to Buy more Santander Shares, at the moment or at all ?
Is Abbey/Santander best avoided ?
Foreign shares can be a hassle , when accounting for the tax on dividends and selling them without becoming a criminal (in Spanish eyes).
Wish I'd got rid of my Abbeys before they became Santander.
More trouble than they're worth now.
But that's just one impression.0 -
Thanks joe65. Just scrolling through pages and Santander don't seem to be keeping people happy. I suppose I was just looking for somewhere to put the money and wondered whether the account was a sensible choice. Difficult to know esp since just buying Santander shares alone may not be a great idea.
Your thoughts are appreciated; As suggested....I know nothing.0
