I think they are a nice idea however I wouldn't buy one as I would rather save the cost of it in an old tin or I buy one of the can style ones for 59p out of home bargains. they are not as pretty but do the same job.

I agree with saving the cost of the terramundi (although they do look gorgeous) so I use empty Jean Paul Gautier Le Male containers.

I started saving in these before I was debt free and boy did they come in useful when I was skint :) A full one of loose change (penny to 10 pence) is over £60! Never used to have anything more than 10p in the container in those days :embarasse

After I became debt free I noticed I didn't dip into them so now I have two containers, 1 for pound coins and 1 for anything else.

Every time we have a charity collection at work it get's the contents of the non pound one (typically at least £15's worth of change) , as for the pound one that is my missus's personal stash it would appear :rotfl:

I love the Terramundi pots as they are so pretty but they are also so expensive so instead I save my £2 coins in a money box. I don’t get tempted to dip into it as I point blank refuse to spend a £2 coin unless I absolutely have to – it has turned into something of an obsession I must admit!

  • I got one for Christmas. If I put £2 coins in it will save £1000 :o I did have a five pound note and some old silver in my other savings jar (shaped like a boot) but I can (and do) dip into it so I transferred it all to my new pot

    Hello all,
The Mister and I bought ourselves a terramundi for saving for a holiday.
We are only allowed to put £1,£2 and notes in it. It is going to take FOREVER to fill it i think!

I also am the proud owner of a sealed pot from £land . This one if for me so save and pay off my credit card and overdraft.[/FONT]

How long roughly does a either of these pots take to fill?!
