in Credit cards
Hi guys,
Right, I have quite a few cards and know quite a lot about them, however I applied for Post Office card (via Quidco) as I am going abroad and for the first time ever been told
"we will let you know within 5 days"...
Now I am worried that I have reached the available limit one can have..
So before I start cancelling other cards, can anyone tell me whether you think that it is just Post Office that is tougher on giving out cards or whether someone still got the card even though they didn't get instant "accepted"?
I can cancel either Virgin or Natwest, or both.. but if I don't get new card at the moment those are cards that give repeat offers and I will need 2 BTs this year.

AFAIK BOI, who back the post office card, don't do automated decisions, i.e. all applications are given the within 5 days response.
I did read in another post from someone who applied for a Saga card (also BOI backed) was declined and when he called the underwriter they advised him that they have a flat rule about declining applicants who already have over four credit cards - I however, personally, doubt they would have such a policy so don't know if this comment held much water.
Good luck with your application

Right, I will wait for the post then...
Thanks, makes me feel a bit better at least for now.. If I do get the card, I will cancel at least the NatWest.0 -
It depends on your income against the total of limits not debt that you owe on them.0
