Bizarre problem...
Have some code like this:
<ol>
<li>test</li>
<li>test</li>
<li>test</li>
</ol>
On some PC's it lists correctly as:
1. test
2. test
3. test
On mine and others, its
1. test
1. test
1. test
Testing on internet explorer, works ok on some IE8 versions, but not others. Target browser is IE only (govt stuff) so not testing against ff/chrome etc
Even tried setting the list type manually in CSS, no diff.
Ideas?

This says it is a known IE6 bug.0
-
can you change the ol to ul0
-
Yeah, got round it by using ul and setting list type to none with manually numbering them.
It happens on IE 8 too, kwik, which is why I'm a bit stumped!0 -
I did see a mention of it still happpening in IE7 in the document my link linked on to but I'm surprised MS hadn't fixed it in IE8. Most of the circumventions seemed to centre around removing any sizing associated with the list elements. You're lucky it's a static list I guess.0

I've had similar problems with IE, it is a nightmare. Considering how widely used it is you think it would be better. Why can't every just use a different browser?0

Bill Gates thought it would be far better just to have the one and we are still living with the fallout ....hungrymonkey wrote: »Why can't every just use a different browser?
Every browser has some quirks. It's javascript where the real nightmares begin :eek:0
