If the Virgin Media Security Top Bar has disappeared, or its not in Control Panel / Uninstall Programmes. Get this tool and use it to uninstall.

BTW you would do well to avoid this Virmin garbage, you don't need it, there are much better antvirus progs that won't screw up your system available to you.

  • Found it this is from the - Virmin Knowledge Base :

Problem: How can I uninstall Virgin Media Security?

Solution: Use Windows Control Panel programs to uninstall Virgin Media Security:

    Windows XP:
From the Virgin Media Security top bar, click File then Exit.
Go to Start and then click Control Panel.
    Click Add/Remove Programs.
Select Virgin Media Security then click the Change/Remove button.

    Windows Vista:
From the Virgin Media Security top bar, click File then Exit.
Go to Start and then click Control Panel.
Click Programs then Programs and Features.
Select Virgin Media Security in the list and click Change/Uninstall.
When the User Account Control dialog box appears, click Continue.

Follow the onscreen instructions and restart the computer when prompted.

If the removal was unsuccessful, run the Virgin Media Security Uninstall Tool (RPSUU.exe) Note: This tool will not remove the data files associated with Virgin Media Security folder thus users will not have to reactivate or redo their settings when reinstalling.

Hi, have you managed to get rid of the virus antivirus software? i have had this problem before, there is an official tool you can use to remove all traces of it from your system, if you not manage to get rid of it i can dig out the tool for you :)
  • Have managed to install microsoft security essentials and scanned which is showing no viruses - however, still haven't got rid of the virgin hub. If you are able to find the tool would be grateful - many thanks.

  • Totally agree with Richie-from-the-Boro this piece of rubbish slowed my new puter down to snails pace, hard drive was going into meltdown.

If you have Microsoft essentials installed and virgin security is still running you may have a conflict as you should only have one anti-virus running.
