How do I invest in silver, are there shares? I don't want to buy silver coins and have them hanging around lol
yes there are shares you can buy they are called ETFs . These exist for a great number of commodities including gold and silver and are offered by a number of companies. You trade them the same way as any other and same cost. There are many providers check out share symbols "BULL" and "SLVR" on the LSE for gold and silver for example.

BULL trading at 18.354 / 18.382 up 1%
However, keep in mind that the day after you buy they could just as well be down 5% - its not like savings, the price depends on all sorts of things including the exchange rate for sterling and the $
