If it's a UK buyer, they will need your account number and sort code.
It's very safe, quick, also free and no chance of a chargeback.
If it's a European buyer they may need other details such as your IBAN no.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
You will need to give them
Account name
Sort Code
Account number
Name of bank
I think its pretty safe because all this info is on all the cheques you write anyway.
Added advantage is that as a seller you've not got the worry about a paypal refund later for something silly.

another advantage is that you are not charged commision as Paypal do, nor do you need to pay to withdraw from paypal (if amount is less than £50). I try to use Bank transfer when i can, if the other person's bank is of the same chain, the funds tend to go in immediately. Hope this helpsNamed after my cat, picture coming shortly0
