Payment by bank transfer

I've had a buyer offer to pay by direct bank transfer

a; is it safe?
b; what details would i need to give them?

    If it's a UK buyer, they will need your account number and sort code.

    It's very safe, quick, also free and no chance of a chargeback.

    If it's a European buyer they may need other details such as your IBAN no.

    You will need to give them

    Account name
    Sort Code
    Account number
    Name of bank

    I think its pretty safe because all this info is on all the cheques you write anyway.

    Added advantage is that as a seller you've not got the worry about a paypal refund later for something silly.

  • another advantage is that you are not charged commision as Paypal do, nor do you need to pay to withdraw from paypal (if amount is less than £50). I try to use Bank transfer when i can, if the other person's bank is of the same chain, the funds tend to go in immediately. Hope this helps
