Do they not have any bank statements or cheque books that would show the details ?
  • everything was left at her previous address and she no longer talks to the people she used to live with so cannot get them from there.
  • With proof of identity and address etc the bank should be able to provide your relative with the account details.

I lost the details of one of my accounts once - I gave the bank a quick call, they asked some security questions and then posted out the details to my registered address. So might be worth getting your relative to phone their bank first if at all possible.
  • many thanks will try that tomorrow morning.

Alternatively, are there any regular credits to her account? The organisation making the payments may be able to help, by giving details of the account receiving the payments.

I hope her change of address has been registered with the bank, particularly if her financial records are available to her ex-housemates.
  • her address has not changed with the bank, her pension used to go into the account till last week when i asked for it to be stopped and sent by giro. the pension service would not give me the details of the account. i might just have to take her to the bank with passport as i dont even have any letters with her old address..
