External DVD writer/burner

My internal dvd writer/burner on my Satellite A60 laptop does not work and I've been advised to purchase an external one because to install a new internal dvd disc drive on my laptop would cost over £100 plus labour!
Does anyone have any idea where I can purchase a slimline (not too bulky or heavy) external dvd writer/burner please?
I've just learnt how to convert and burn dvd's and then the drive breaks down! Typical or coincidence?
Anyway, being an MSE'r I do not really want to spend a fortune on getting a new internal disc drive from Toshiba, so an external one would suffice I suppose, but it has to be compact, not too heavy and pretty reasonable, but also has to be able to convert and burn dvd's.
