Will i avoid fees this way? - insurance

I'm aware that if you use your C/C to withdraw money from cash machines, you get charged, so this is a no no.

For some reason i had in my mind that you'd get charged if you used your C/C to pay for car insurance. Is this so? Surely not. I can't remember why i thought that - i must've been told by someone but can't remember who.

While on the topic of it - can you get charged for sending money via PayPal as you're still electronically sending money (like you would if you bought from, lets say amazon or wherever)??

IF the answer is a no, then is this possible:

* Use the send money feature to send your full credit allowance (via gift - so it incurs no PayPal fee) to say, your mothers account.
* Transfer from your mothers account to her bank account, from her bank account to yours & straight into a high interest account.

Is that possible?
Would you get busted for it?
Would you incur fees?

Re the car insurance - it's not treated as cash withdrawal, but many of the insurers will charge a suplement (2-3%) for using a credit card.
  • CC company will not charge you for paying your car insurance, but it is possible the insurance company might. I always pay by card, however, and have not been charged a fee by the insurance company.

The Pay Pal idea would not work tho:

PayPal is safe, easy and takes moments to complete.

    - PayPal is free when you use your bank account or PayPal balance.

    - If you use your credit or debit card, there is a fee of 3.4% of the transaction amount plus 20p.

Ahh, it was worth an attempted idea lol.

When you say you paid by card, what card did you pay by? Credit or debit?

Cheapest i can get is Admiral & i've seen no mention of extra charges for credit card payments.
