Hi! I started work back in september, doing 16 hours a week in a small family run shop. With xmas coming up theyve asked if I can do some extra hours here and there... My question and worry is... Do i have to inform the tax credits people every time i do a little bit of overtime? It'll only be about 8 hours a week, so do i have to ring and declare it?
You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....

on your entitlement form it should give you a figure which you are allowed to earn before you have to declare a change in circumstances. I think this is to allow for minor fluctuations. But if it is just a few extra hours it will all be calculated next year when you give them your exact income details. I personally wouldn't bother phoning them for a few pounds difference in income, purely because everytime I do it ends up with them messing it all up and me going without for months until they sort it and backpay. But, if there is likely to be enough of a difference to cause an overpayment then I would call to spare any issues next year.:A
