My friend recently got into a fight on a plane with another passenger and was arrested. He is going to court in a couple of weeks and a friend from work said the solictor might be covered under his travel insurance.

If he has legal cover as part of his insurance then I would think it is possible but he would have to check his policy.0 -

Not to mention that the liability section of any policy will normally exclude "intentional acts".42 years of experience in the insurance industry.
And nothing the industry tries do to us surprises me any more!0 -
Thanks for the 2 helpful replies. As for the others replies... pathetic.0

whats he expect, he put life at danger, anger therepy is the answer0

Nah, !!!! him. Fighting on a plane, even if you weren't in the air (and I'm sure that doesn't put life in danger) - hundreds of people looking on, probably wanting to watch their films. He's an idiot. Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?0

Think the offence normally means a short prison sentence, as it is judged to be very serious.
Don't think any Insurance will cover this, certainly not Travel Insurance. They could check any legal cover under a Home Insurance to see what that offers. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
