Watched the news earlier, and even the BBC are saying that labour really need to answer questions now if they want to continue down this path (of attacking).
thats what the BBC might want, but its not what labour has to do,they have no need to highlight policy until the date of the next general election is known, after all the tories went 13 years without a single policy and the liberals went 80 years being all things to all voters.0 -

The £7.50 a week figure was from the lump dems during the election campaign when they said they opposed an increase in vat.
Its not beyond the realms of possibility that an average family spends £600 a week on everything and at best £100 zero rated, giving an increase of £10
you`d be surprised btw at the foodstuffs that do attract vat, then when you add in adult clothing, household goods,sky/mobiles/landlines/petrol/fags/booze etc etc etc
and btw insurance tax increased by 20% this week from 5% to 6%0 -

i think you live in cuckoo land if you think the average family has £6oo per week to spend on luxuries, after paying for food, rent, energy etc.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -

i work out that £389 is £7.48 a week, that's nearly £7.50 - you'll also notice in the picture that it has very little to do with Labour but more to do with the current deputy prime minister...
Osborne says it won't be great impact but Clegg thought it important enough to use the massive poster as part of his campaign.
who's lying Nick Clegg or Osborne?
it's also interesting that Cameron thinks a VAT rise is not a good idea but what would he care...You could try, as you say, to put it on VAT, sales tax, but again if you look at the effect of sales tax, it’s very regressive, it hits the poorest the hardest. It does, I absolutely promise you.Any sales tax, anything that goes on purchases that you make in shops tends to . . . if you look at it, where VAT goes now it doesn’t go on food obviously but it goes very, very widely and VAT is a more regressive tax than income tax or council tax.We have absolutely no plans to raise VAT0 -

Wait a minute why do you want to know who he votes for (support suggests he runs the Unions)? BTW who do you vote for?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. if the truth be known then i dont give a flying one who said it, its still a load of scaremongering bullBe Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

All you'd get is "As we are not in power, we can't be expected to know the precise state of the UK's finances. Once we take office, we'll have a detailed review of the situation, then decide." :rotfl:
Have you been reading Camerons notes from before the election'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Give a council £20,000 extra money. I guarantee it will go on pay rises. Give them £60,000 and that's another deputy diversity co-ordinator in the bag.
Take away £20,000, then they will cut one meals on wheels assistant. Take away £60,000 and that's two extra bin-men on their bikes.
Classic use it or lose policy.0
