in Techie Stuff
When my computer starts up, lots of programs also start. programs such as
Skype
Quicktime
Logitech Quickcam
HP Digital Imaging Monitor
Microsoft Office Upload Centre
These programs I assume are running in the background and show on my taskbar
How do i retain them on my PC, but do not start up in the taskbar when starting my computer

You just need to remove them from your start up menu.

click 'start' and scroll up till you see it, mine's 6th from the bottom.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving, Gardening, and Crafting boards.

Start/Run/ Type in msconfig and press ok.
Select Start up tab and untick programs not required at start up.
Click Apply/ok0 -
Try using msconfig and you untick safely entries from there.Leanne Loves :A

Msconfig Microsoft
Click Start->Run.
Type "msconfig" (without the quotation marks) and press Enter.
Click the Startup tab and click to take the tick out of each one you don't want to start ( I do it one by one rather than all at the same time )
Click OK to restart the computer.
Check "don't show this message or launch the system configuration utility when windows starts".
If everything starts OK, then you can do the next item and restart again
takes time but I prefer doing one by one0
