in Credit cards
Just got a call from Tesco credit card as one transaction today seemed suspicous to them. Right enough, someone seemed to manage to use my CC details to buy something worth £617 (Apple and O2 were mention with disputed transaction). We confirmed what was ours and what was not and this amount was straight away refused as ours, the Tesco ppl cancelled it, cancelled the cards and ordered new ones as well as forwarded the case to fraud investigation team.
I am super grateful! :TI received phone calls from them a couple of other times when I did purchase something larger than usual.
Saying that, I am still completely shaken that someone did get hold of my CC details. I do not use CC in stores (only Tesco as clubcard) and both my cards (well, mine and hubbies) are accounted for. I do use it online though. The TESCO cc said it must have been case of dishonest retailer and that fraudalent transaction was either phone/online one, but had no more details than that (I am registered for 3D secure). Completely flabbergasted how this could have happened in the first place.
