Clamped outside doctors - £320!
I parked outside my doctors for 15 mins on Xmas eve and came out to find my car had been clamped. If I didn't pay £320 they were going to take it away at extra cost to myself plus £35 a day storage (and a long way away too!)
It was so upsetting as you can imagine, what a bad time of year!
Surely it is not legal and why do they charge so much?
I had been parking there for four years and recently they had put up signs... I didn't see them in my hurry to get to the doctors.
Apparently they did it to someone with a disabled badge the other day and somebody in their 80's who was very ill.

i suppose they can if there are signs there
if the signs say you cant park there and clamping is operational then it shouldnt matter if your disabled, old, young, pink, yellow, black, white, blue or anything else a rule is a rule i suppose
not sure why its so expensive its normally about £40 down my way
if you have the tools and no one is watching you can just take it off and tehn phone the company saying you have a clamping ticket but there is no clamp make sure they write down the phone call. they will try to make you pay for it but they cant do much unless they took a piccy0 -
Is it private property? Is that law in yet?0

Clamping is still legal.0

You can get your money back, however you will have to sue BOTH the landowner / whoever contracted them and the clampers.
Post a thread over on pepipoo for details of how to go about doing it, you will need to have your reciept they gave you and any photos of the signs on the site. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
and ofcourse the clamper not the company needs to hold a clamping licence in order to clamp your car. £320 isnt a justifiable loss in my mind i'd sue them, and if your doctors surgery has instructed this clamping, a complaint to the local health authority wont go amiss.0

Were you in the Doctors Surgery at the time when you were clamped?Near a tree by a river, there's a hole in the ground.

A pair of 'Bolt Croppers' or a chainsaw or alike might have released it.
I don't know of any statutory law to say you cannot remove a clamp of your vehicle.
I remember talking gto someone? last year who removed a clamp from his car.
