A pat on the back for motor dealer

I thought I would praise the dealership I go to for our Nissan car.

They are Glyn Hopkins of Waltham Abbey, Herts.

When I need a service they come and collect the car (once they even came to my place of work which is further away than my home). They give a ring to say they are on their way. They then bring the vehicle back which has been cleaned inside and out. All free of charge.

My husband thought the clutch wasn't performing as it should (but then he does have a thing about clutches), but once again they came and collected adjusted the clutch and told us it was fine, they didn't try to trick us into having a replacement when it wasn't necessary.

When we had poor fuel consumption once, they looked it over and said `not surprising` there was a nest of peanuts and grass in the air intake....naughty mouse. The didn't charge for this.

In these days of rip off merchants it is nice to have these people.

I see what you're saying, but we've had major trouble with Nissan HQ, who clearly don't give a hang once you've purchased the vehicle and it's out of warranty.

That's why I made a point of buying my new vehicle from the Toyota dealership opposite from Nissan

We'll never buy Nissan again - I know they are reliable cars, my old man had one for 14 years, the only reason he had to scrap it was the bodywork (rust) it ran fine and v.low maintenance. It's a good reason to buy one, but for us it's the customer service which let them down. It's a long story... :rotfl: :naughty:
  • I think the reason that many people think that they will be ripped off, is because most people do not share their positive experiences,as you have done.

More often we are only told when things go wrong, and people often form opinions using this information.
:) There are two sides to every story.

someone needs to set up a 'rate your dealer' or 'rate your garage' type website imo.
