whats one more whippet

Just to be clear - I would not recommend 2 puppies at a time to anyone - indeed I would strongly advise against it - it is extremely hard work. They both have to have individual "quality" time and be socialised separately to enable them to develop into well-balanced individuals.
Fortunately, my OH is as "into" the dogs as myself and understands the necessity not to let the 2 pups become a single unit. We have been showing dogs for over 30 years and have a great deal of experience to draw on.
And to Tropez - I agree with the others - what is one more whippet

Absolutely. It is very hard work. I had something of an advantage in that I divide my time between two rooms anyway so I would have one crated in one room, usually having a snooze, while attending to the other. To begin with, I limited them to about thirty minutes a day playing with each other but let them spend a little more time with the much older dog I had at the time as I had been informed that the older dog would usually help teach the puppies how to behave, and it did seem to do the trick.
But it sounds a lot easier than it is. Puppies whining can be frustrating and when they're both at it at the same time it is akin to torture. Similarly, I had a severe lack of sleep the first month or so because the puppies assume any time they're awake it is play time. When there's two of them around and they're able to hear each other it seems to take longer to teach them night time is not play time.
And then of course, there's the fact puppies want to know what they can get away with - so you end up with two mischievious little devils pushing their limits.
All seemed worth it though when I had them both out one time and they jumped on my chest and went to sleep. I'm a sucker for puppies snoozing on or next to me.

Well, yeah, I do want to...
I actually spoke to my partner about it, expecting her to put the brakes on any plan to get yet another dog but she was... surprisingly receptive...0 -
Not exactly money saving but I say go for it

I really want another, but I dont know if I can deal with another 'rehome', Grey was hard work... at least a young pup I can bring up the same way as Kira (who is the most chilled out husky in the world)I'm not a bloke! :rotfl:My real name is Sinead, Sid is my nickname :rotfl:0 -

Well I am very tempted... darn breeder...
I would have to see though whether the breeder would be willing to hold on to her for a bit while I socialise my dogs with her. I wouldn't want to take her home and have Milly jump on her... Milly's a clumsy oaf!0
