Vent: UPS - useless

I am soooo annoyed with UPS. Supposed to have delivered and collected mobile phones on 30th Dec. I am not the direct customer, it is via my mobile phone company. UPS didn't deliver on 30th Dec because "The package was missed at the UPS facility, UPS will deliver on the next business day." :mad:

They re-scheduled to 31/12 (without checking whether I was available), then no delivery because "A correct street number is needed for delivery. UPS is attempting to obtain this information. / UPS contacted the sender". The package will have had the correct address on but no one bothered to try and find it because it looked wrong. :mad:

Rescheduled to today (without checking I was available). Now had an 'exception'. One part of the tracking says:
Schedule Delivery Updated To: Tuesday, 04/01/2011 , By End of Day." It does not however say it is "out for delivery".

And another part says "Your shipment is currently within the UPS system however an unforeseen event has taken place which could result in a change to the scheduled delivery date". :mad:

So am I supposed to just put my life on hold to wait and see if some incompetent company bothers to bring my package?

Phoned my mobile phone company and asked them to contact UPS to find out what is going on. Said he spoke to a woman at UPS who was very unhelpful and basically I don't know whether it will be coming today. :mad:

And there was I hoping it would be 3rd time lucky :( :rotfl:

I am so annoyed because no one has bothered to actually contact me to apologise or discuss any of the new delivery dates.

Told the mobile phone company to tell them I'm not in tomorrow but going on the past track record they will probably turn up then.

  • I gave up with UPS a while ago. My mobile phone company sent me two phones instead of one. I contacted the company to have them uplift the second phone. UPS date was set and on that day nobody turned up. Contacting my phone company they got in touch with UPS and they stated they had tried my front door on FOUR seperate occasions on the day. I informed them I didn't get anybody at my door on that day and had also taken the day off work in order to be in. After they checked the address and issued an apology (even though it wasn't the phone company fault) everything was then rescheduled. Needless to say, the exact same happened again. The following day, I get a phone call whilst on my way to work from the driver from UPS saying he was outside my door and nobody was answering. I told him it was yesterday it was scheduled for and I was on my way to work but could head home in order to get the phone out of my hands and he said "Nah don't bother mate, it means I'm sitting waiting around, I've got things to get done today". I seen red! Needless to say, a year later, the phone is still sitting in it's box in my cupboard.

    Update:

    UPS = still useless!

    Following another call to my mobile company yesterday who then called UPS, it was re-sceduled to be delivered today. However it has now been "The package was left in a UPS facility / Delivery rescheduled".

    Complete and utter incompetence. I will never ever use this company if I ever need something delivering!
