SoLine 20 has now been replaced with SoLine 21, and they have whacked up the prices, so I guess they won`t be topping any of the switching sites now! :rotfl:

  • npower would appear to have taken over from British Gas in the race to replace their existing online tariff. When was SOL20 first introduced?

    Hi

Just did a comparison and they're still £22 cheaper (SOL 20 was £45 cheaper)

    Cheaper than who?

After putting my BG websaver 5 figures in, Npower doesn`t even get a mention on the switching sites.

    on the topic of SOL20 - 21.

i signed up for SOL new year's eve, seeing as tehy have now pulled this out.

does that mean i will be staying on standard rates

i've rang npower to see if it went through but the woman on the phone didnt know wether it had gone through or not and said ring a week later....

Beginning to worry a bit now as I'm new to all this switching lark. We only get electric and recently I changed suppliers for the first time ever, from Southern Electric to NPower, after a comparison site reckoned I would save about £180 by switching to NPower's SOL20. Was always dubious about letting utility companies have access to my bank account via DD so was probably paying 'top dollar' with SE by paying by Debit Card every quarter. Just hoping my old attitude of 'better the devil you know' and paying a bit more than needed to isn't going to be proved right in the end.

The BANK is ultimately responsible for any DD that is not correct and it is them who have to refund any incorrect payment taken by DD.
So you can safely pay by DD and start saving money for your energy.

Until two days ago SoL 20 was coming up as the cheapest but now that`s been replaced by SoL 21, which is no longer competitive and doesn`t even figure in the switching sites "best buys"

I would also point out that anyone thinking of switching would get a far better cashback deal by going through TopCashBack website.

I think I would cancel (7 days is allowed, I think) and start again.
Ringing back in a week is over the cooling off period.
