WTC cards - travel costs

I have just been sent some plastic WTC cards by NHS - 4 months after I started claiming it
They are proof for getting free prescriptions, dental treatment, NHS eye tests. glasses, wigs !!
And most importantly - help in Travel costs to NHS appointments - No mention is made exactly what this means or how it is claimed
Any suggestions ?

You automatically get the NHS exemption card if you are eligible under wtc rules.

I know that - but what about the help with travel costs ?
ie) I regularly have to go by train to London for NHS medical appointments - but if I present my card at the ticket office, will they give me a 50% discount ?
    I think not.....

it always used to be that you bought your ticket, and then present it at the hospital cash office for a refund.
and theres no need for the sarcasm when youre asking poeople for help.

Twinkle - any time you travel to hospital appointments etc , make sure you hold on to your bus/train tickets.

Each hospital has a patient finance dept and if you go there after your appointment and show them your appoinment letter and bus/train tickets , you will be re-embursed for your travel expenses.

Have you paid for any prescriptions or dental treatment etc since your entitlment to tc's began ?

I ask you this as if you have paid any charges and now find that you have received this exemption card and so are entitled to free medication and dental treatment you can fill in a form to claim back any charges you have already paid.

If you need any further help just ask.
The loopy one has gone :j
