Disneyland Paris question

Hello all and Happy 2011 :j

since this is the last year that our oldest will be eligible for the under 12 go free we, and that he might not enjoy it as much once he is hitting his teenage years, we decided to go to Disneyland Paris at the end of January.

We are planning to book the Hotel and Tickets on DP webiste and Ferry separately. However I am worried about cancellations due to bad weather.

My question is:
What happen if the Ferry is cancelled and we cant get to DP?
How do I ensure that we get money back or can rebook?

We are worried that with our luck we might get more snow and loose all the money we pay for the accomodation+ tickets + travel...

Thanks :)

Get some travel insurance booked once your trip is booked and make sure it includes cancellation cover. I'm not sure if this will cover the tickets but since these may be included free by Disney they may not necessary need cover.
  • Could you go later in the free kids under 12 period ie up to end of March? That way hopefully there won't be the same potential disruption to your travel plans due to bad weather.
  • thanks for your replies. I was thinking on the lines of Snow being an "act of God" may not be covered anyway

Due to work rostas and other committments we can only go end of Jan as the 31st or second week of Feb, but knowing my luck there will either be a french strike or Snow :(

cant really afford to book and loose everything! :(

just be careful when looking at cancellation cover, as this may not cover what you need. When relating to 'cancellation' on insurance policy, it normally means if you have to cancel due to being unable to go due to medical or financial reasons, not just because your ferry has been cancelled.

Xheck out the small print and, if still unsure, call them and ask specifically.

Have you thought about the tunnel? less likely to be cancelled due to bad weather (however could still be cancelled for any number of reasons).

Alternatively, book it as a full package with just 1 company, with everything on the same invoice. This should offer you a bit more financial protection.
