Need a cheap/nice hotel in Cardiff after Xmas
Options
Hi,
Dani'n byw ar Ynys Mon
We live on Anglesey, and I need to book a fairly decent hotel in the centre of Cardiff (with parking) for the 26th and 27th December.
Have been on Late Rooms.com etc, and found the Novotel for £155, for 2 nights B & B for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. I thought this wan't a bad price, but wondered if anyone knew of somewhere cheaper.
I was also interested in a luxury flat I saw on a hotel comparison site. 2 bedrooms, really modern and plush with a balcony. This was £300 for 2 nights, well over budget, but it looked really good-of course in this case we would have the facility to cook, but possibly would end up eating out anyway so it defeats the object of paying more in the end.
Thank you for any help.

well cheap, basic, but reasonable for the money - there is an ibis hotel within minutes of the city centre.
big sleep, again in centre - bit more trendy than the ibis
of course, there is also a marriott, hilton and jurys in centre centre too.

Last year I got some really good deals from Travelodge over Christmas and New Year.
If you go on their website you can often book hotel rooms from £15.00 a night, even more from £26.00 a night - all depends on date and location.
Last year they did a promotion where they made loads and loads of rooms available for £10.00 a night over the festive season (guess most of their visitors are for business and not much going on that time of year). They notified me by email that these rooms were coming up - if you sign up for their newsletters, they should send you the info.

They're quite corporate and basic, but at least you know exactly what you're getting with them!0
