HSBC internal score update

Options
I've held an HSBC Bank account since 30 June 2010 and by now it should be over 6 months old and the bank should have an internal score of me.

A couple months ago I applied for a small overdraft, just £100 for testing, and it was approved, though the credit checked my callcredit file.

Now I am thinking on applying for a credit card, but before I do I would like to make sure they already have the internal score on me. Does anyone know when do they update their monthly internal score for customers?

Also, if I succeeded in getting the small overdraft, does it mean they are likely to approve my application for a credit card?

I think its the 7th of each month.

Have a look at this useful thread (esp post 19) and Post 6 here

My understanding is that HSBC place more weight on an existing customers internal credit score/account conduct when deciding if to provide them with new products than other banks do..

However, the posts above are quite old, and some suggest that an external credit search was not carried out for a new credit card.. I suspect now that such a check is probably now mandatory and HSBC only accept applications from current account holders now.

    Thank you Sunil

I will stick to it, apply by the 10th for the credit card and see the outcome. I also have an eISA and savings account with them and some money is paid regularly into both of them. Hopefully it will help too. I'll report back with the outcome.

I have applied today and got offered a £2000 limit at 16.9% so I guess they did the update. But they have also recorded a credit search on my Callcredit file.
