Window draft excluder spray?

Hello all,
Not sure if I have posted this in the right place so, mods, feel free to move it.
I've noticed it's a tad drafty around some of our windows in our flat. I remember a former colleague talking about a spray you can apply around window frames. It forms a seal which is 'broken' when you open the windows. In winter it helps keep the drafts out. The boyfriend asked about this in Homebase and they had no idea what he was talking about.
Anyone got any clues? When I Google, it seems to bring up insulation sprays for lofts.

Do you mean silicone spray?
Apologies to be so vague but I'm not sure. My colleague mentioned it in passing and it was described as a "spray that breaks when you open the windows in spring." Will the silicone leave a mark? We live in a rented flat so want to avoid doing any damage.
P.S. Where would one buy silicone spray?0 -
Silicone spray is only a lubricant, it wouldn't make an airtight seal...What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!0

Never heard of a spray like that, if you don't find any then a possible alternative are self-adhesive seal strips. They're a foam-rubber strip you run around the frame to seal to the window, they work quite well, stop the draft but still allow you to use the window when required.
