    Hi

I to ordered the bedside cabinets & wardrobe form additions before they were posted on here. I was told the bedside cabinets would be delivered 26th Jan which I thought was a bit of a long wait considering I ordered on 30th Dec but was willing to wait for a bargain.

I had no sign of them and called on 25th Jan to enquire where they are and they were very unhelpful and all they would say was that if the operative placed another order that day it wouldn't be delivered until 18th Feb so I would likely have to wait until around then for mine. I asked for more info as thought this was entirely insufficient and was told someone from deliveries would call me back in the next few days.

In the mean time a work colleague of my husbands offered us a better 3 door pine wardrobe for £50 so I decided especially as no one had called me back after a week to call and cancel my order. I was told I couldn't cancel as the order had been placed with the supplier and would have to refuse delivery or send them back once they'd arrived.

I was insistent that I wanted to cancel and would be happy with nothing else and told them had told my CC company not to pay them so that they would not be able to take payment and so wouldn't be dispatching them for me to return etc and that I was willing to escalate this matter as I was horribly disappointed with their customer service. Magically then he managed to actually cancel my order:D

So unimpressed with additions - this was my first order and I definitely won't be using them again!

  • I Rang yesturday, they said out of stock and not getting anymore in!!!! if your waiting i'd ring up and cancel to get a refund. DONT wait for them to ring you as they'll be happy to hold on to your money for you and make interest out of all the people who think they will still get a delivery.

I wouldn't mind but they clearly told me they were in stock when i rang up to order! Maybe VERY stands for 'VERY' poor customer service??
Wedding day is 26th Aug 2011 and counting!

I got my drawers, the assembly diagrams were terrible and the drawers aren't on smooth runners, it's wood on wood. But they look nice and they're sturdy so I'm happy:)

Costello, where did you order yours from? mine are due for delivery today but i phoned k&co (great universal) this morning and they said they were still showing as oos but i should sit in til 7pm to see if they arrive :S
  • I ordered 1 set of drawers and 2 bedside cabinets, and none have arrived. I emailed Kandco and they have no idea when they will arrive as they are apparently coming direct from the supplier. Not holding my breath to be honest, just glad i havent paid for them up front!

I ordered mine from woolworths. Was due for delivery on the 8th feb but nothing arrived. I have contacted woolies who told me the order was accepted by the manufacturer but they had no delivery date. It was on the 8th feb that they said they would chase it up for me, not heard anything yet. Theyve already been paid for, and I couldnt cancel the order.

Its not looking good is it? I dont think they know what there doing to be honest.
  • I know this may sound petty but I am really !!!!ed off with Very Catalogue as I have got rid of my old furniture as I had ordered the full range of waterford furniture spoke to them on 9th and they said it should turn up only it has not and today it states the bulk of my order has been cancelled I have e-maid them this after doing some research online will let you know what happens, I only ordered as It was such good value (to me anyway, maybe not to others) but they have given me the runaround for 2 weeks now telling me the order is definatly going to arrive so I am obviously VERY ANGRY WITH VERY :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Here is my e-mail to them I will just wait and see !!!!!!

I placed an order with you on January 4th 2011 the main body of which was for some new furniture and was given a conformation e-mail and delivery dates of 28/1/2011 and also 9/02/2011 I have been in on both dates and both deliverys failed to turn up! I have contacted you via phone only to be told at first it had been delivered, it obviously had not as I had not recieved the order then secondly to be told that you had no idea where the order was and you would look into it at this time I was assured that I would recieve the items I had orderd. It was stated that the order which should have been delivered on 28/1/2011 would possibly turn up on the 9/2/2011 with those items but did not. I have rang again to query this and have had no help al all as to where my order is I placed order on 4/01/2011 so would have thought this enough time for the order to be delivered.
I have checked via the website this morning only to find that the bulk of my order has been cancelled, but no explanation of why. I have already sold my old furniture in anticipation of the delivery of the new stock ordered from your website and am not able to get those items back. I am now left with no storage for our clothes. I refer to the Consumer Protection (distance selling) Regulations 2000, YOU MUST GIVE CLEAR INFORMATION INCLUDING DETAILS OR THE GOODS OR SERVICES OFFERED, DELIVERY ARRANGEMENTS AND PAYMENT THE SUPPLIERS DETAILS AND THE CONSUMERS CANCELLATION RIGHT BEFORE THEY BUY (known as prior information)
I have never been given any information about the suppliers only that it was not for me to contact them, but you yourself could not contact them anyway as you cannot make outbound calls from your centre!
I would like to know what you are going to do to resolve this situation as I ordered the items due to the good price they were being offered at.
I will however be contacting my local Trading Standards to investigate this under the ground of MISLEADING PRICE INDICATION CPA 1987 if I dont get any further with you.
    Regards

Janibrown - Your going to have a fight on your hands on that one. Did you pay in full for the goods or did you have a credit account?

Ive just rang woolworths again and spoke to Jean, I asked her am i going to get my order, and she said 'you will definately get your order, dont worry'. She said there chasing the order up and this can take upto 7 working days to do. If I havent heard anything within that time to ring back. So ive gotta wait now till 22nd Febuary.

If I have to wait till then and they turn round and say im not getting them, then Im going to demand an alternative product at their cost. I will not just be accepting a refund having waited nearly 2 months.
  • From what I can gather online if they have mislead consumers as they have told me time and time again that the product were on their way to me there are lots of rule and regulations I am just going to continue to bombard them and see what happens, they should not be allowed to get away with pricing something low, then taking orders on the item then promising delivery then retracting it with no valid reason

    Persons holding themselves out as producers, for example by selling private label products under their own brand ("own-branders");
This Code of Practice is approved under section 25 of the Act, which gives the
Secretary of State power to approve codes of practice to give practical guidance to
traders. It is addressed to traders and sets out what is good practice to follow in giving
price indications in a wide range of different circumstances, so as to avoid giving
misleading price indications. The Code is not comprehensive. It cannot address every
circumstance in which a misleading price may be given, particularly for new and
innovative selling practices. It is guidance, rather than mandatory, although it may be
taken into account in establishing whether an offence has been committed under the
Act. You may, therefore, still give price indications which do not accord with this
Code, provided they are not misleading. Equally, compliance with specific aspects of
the Code will not, of itself, establish that a price indication is not misleading. Where
an offence of giving a misleading price indication is alleged, a Court would have
regard to all the relevant circumstances.
Enforcement of the Consumer Protection Act 1987 is the responsibility of officers
of the local weights and measures authority - usually called Trading Standards
Officers. Trading Standards Officers operate in accordance with the Home Authority
principle (under which a specific Trading Standards Service acts as the Home
Authority for a major retailer with multi-store outlets) and with the principles of
consultation and co-operation that are set out in the Enforcement Concordat. Further
information about the Home Authority principle and the Enforcement Concordat can
be obtained from your local Trading Standards Service or your Home Authority.
Details of the location of your local Trading Standards Services can be obtained at the
main Trading Standards website – http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk. In Northern
Ireland enforcement is the responsibility of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and
    Investment.
If a Trading Standards Officer has reasonable grounds to suspect that you have
given a misleading price indication, the Act gives the Officer power to require you to
produce any records relating to your business and to seize and detain goods or records
which the Officer has reasonable grounds for believing may be required as evidence
in court proceedings. Be prepared to cooperate with Trading Standards Officers and
respond to reasonable requests for information and assistance. It is in your interest to
be able to demonstrate that any claims you have made are accurate and valid. The Act
makes it an offence to obstruct a Trading Standards Officer intentionally or to fail
(without good cause) to give any assistance or information the Officer may reasonably
require to carry out his duties under the Act.
I don't mind how long it takes I want to make the point they should not take and comfirm orders if they cant forfill them

I enquired about my wardrobe and got this -
Thanks for contacting us regarding your order.
Unfortunately the item you ordered is no longer available.
Please accept our sincere apologies for this unexpected situation, and for disappointing you.
Why not browse through the website and select a replacement.
We hope you are able to find a suitable alternative from the wide selection of items available and look forward to seeing you online again soon.

    Kind Regards

    Emma Hall

I was counting on these items, and I think they should at least offer an alternative at the same price!
