Wouldn't just cancel the direct debit because they will get a debt collection company involved.
  • I cancelled my sky in feb and it was straight forward for me...I was in a queue for a few minutes then told the advisor wanted to cancel because I couldn't afford it, she asked what channels I watched, came back with an offer of £19 a month I said no thanks simply can't afford it so she cancelled for me (with months notice of course). I'd only been with them 13 months, it sounded like I would have had a better offer if I'd been with them longer. Try ringing in the afternoon around 2.30ish when people are in work or doing the school run.

The only channels I can't get on my sky box now that I can get on freeview is dave and e4 music I think. The only thing I've really missed is the Sky+ facility. Not being able to rewind when you miss something or pause when the phone rings takes some getting used to, but I'm sure I'll cope.:D

We cancelled our direct debit, then wrote to them told them we wanted to cancel until further notice. They disconnected us as soon as they received the letter..
