they won't say ok, they never do. They put you through to someone else, make you wait on hold for another 20 mins and by that time you are so peed off you end up agreeing to anything they offer LOL

From my experience when you call tell them you are giving them a months notice that you would like to cancel your subscription. They will then ask you why you want to cancel, tell them your reasons why and you will then be put through to the retentions department. The person you speak to at the retentions department will ask you again why you want to cancel and will probably ask what types of programmes you usually watch, they will then speak to there manager and come back with an offer.

I used to get offers all the time from Sky, usually 3 months half price, and at the end of the 3 months I'd call up again and threaten to cancel and get another offer. Excuses I used to use were I could get a cheaper package on cable, I was moving to Freeview etc. If they do go ahead and cancel your subscription without giving you an offer you have one month to call up and re-subscribe.
  • sky is the worst company ever. i ahve been on the phone for over 2 hours to speak to somebody who was meant to call me back today. turns out she is not at work. frustration and cancelling contract tomorrow.

    milly I agree with Tom

Just dump sky. Its not the be all & end all, and its costing you a fortune when you simply cant afford it. Effectively having it is putting it on credit every month, as its making you more in debt EVERY month. Be honest with yourself - even if its half price, can you still afford it? Not really.

Get a freeview box, theres stacks of channels on there ( maybe you can just watch ftreeview channels through your current box- if not) but a fv box, they are only 20 quid forever :T
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Sky has sold my name and number even when asked not to

they flunt the data protection act, lie about the numbers they own and i had to get the police to stop them calling

i have complained in several letters and cancled my sky

they are getting to big for there boots

want to know more i will tell you all
  • I never thought it woulld happen but it did. When my wife answered the phone this evening a Sky representative got the usual 'no thanks' to an offer of upgrading our package. A minute later he phoned back, asked my wife to write down a reference number. When she did it was obviously an obscene word. A hoax call? No - the caller went through exactly the right procedure and had our details. An outsourced call centre call? Yes, one which left my wife shaken and distressed. Why should anyone be subjected to this abuse just because they became a customer of SKY??
