BT deregulation

In with my last phone bill, I received a notice stating that BT were being deregulated by ofcom and would be setting their own call pricing structures...
A Link to a related article is here:

So - has anyone got any smart ideas on how to save money as I'd assume that other telco's would be doing the same?
My own personal phone usage (I say my own - it's really my other half's phone usage!) is usually heavy from 6pm to 10pm and during the weekends - so we've got BT option 2 which gives us free calls for up to an hour at a time during those times...
I've looked around - but can't really see anything better...
Any comments / help would be appreciated!

If you have sky, you can have sky talk (ANYTIME CALLS...MAX 60 MINS) for £5 (plus line renta) to BT. also if you use Broad , there are pakages out there for £20 with anytime calls and line rental included0

For starters theirs no need to pay for a Evening and Weekend Call Package from BT,as you can get same thing from Primus Saver free.
Have a read of Heinz,s post here for ideas on how to cut your phone bill.

Of course I endorse what billsavings saysbillsavings wrote:For starters theirs no need to pay for a Evening and Weekend Call Package from BT,as you can get same thing from Primus Saver free.

but I'd just add that, if those evening and weekend calls are to UK 01/02 nunbers, you are paying BT £3.95/month so they are 'free' when, in fact, they'd only cost 5½p each (if they're 60 minutes or less) even if you were on the basic BT Together Option 1!
The subscription-free Primus Saver Option 2 package means those calls (if they're 90 minutes or less) won't cost you anything.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Thanks for the response guys!
I knew this was the right place to go for some good advice!
