no idea what to do regards buying/renting

hi all, got a major problem here, me and the girlfriend need to move out are parents houses, we have done our finances and after everything, we have £750 spare per month between us, we have no savings whatsoever and no way of increasing this spare money.
after being told that in North Lincolnshire, the average cost of running a house, all in (bills, food etc) is about £1000 we are stuck!!!!

any ideas where i can start as being homeless is not an option

    Options that spring to mind....

    a) Eat humble pie & make peace with parents...
    b) Rent a room in a HMO shared house
    c) Get another/a better/a 2nd/a 3rd job & earn more money...
    d) Recognise that being homeless IS an option if you don't sort your life out (apologies for being blunt but too many have blithely decided it wasn't an option and then found themselves on the streets.. .. ps it's snowing outside where I am now...)

pretty much what TAL said.. plus have you actually looked at rents in your area?? have you worked out it would actually cost you 1k a month or has someone told you that and you have accepted it as true.. Would rent, council tax and bills be 850 a month in a bedsit in your area?? you could easy do food for 2 on £150 a month. I know in my area it wouldn't be but i'm not north linconshire.

  • I don't accept that one grand a month figure! Do some research and find out what it would cost you to take rooms in a shared flat or house. You don't appear to earn enough for your own place yet. AND I would most definitely NOT recommend you strike out on your own with absolutely no savings behind you. That way, madness lies (and homelessness)

could you relocate from where you are living as depending upon which part of Lincolnshire you are if you could live on the Derbyshire/ Nottinghamshire border you can get more for your money. But you need to save for a deposit and a months rent upfront, so you will need about £1500 at a guess
