The unadvertised benefits of breadmakers

I've been sitting here, doing a few things online and mucking about when it occured to me that I haven't seen much of the dogs this evening. Normally, by now, they would have been nagging me in their own little way to spend some time with them but not tonight.
So I went off to find them and what do I find but the three of them, lined up, sitting outside the kitchen, sniffing at the air and I realised that they had all been enticed by the aroma of the bread that is baking in my new breadmaker that I'm using for the first time today.
So, if your dogs are usually a little boisterous and are anything like mine, buy yourself a breadmaker and bake some bread! It will keep them quiet and provide you with some freshly baked bread! :rotfl:
As the bread still isn't ready, I have yet to see their reaction when they realise they're not getting any though!

when we used to have a roast dinner every sunday the sound of the electric carving knife was enough to summon the dog and the cat! by the time I had done the first slice they would both be sitting at my feet! but imagine thier disapointment if I had only used it to slice bread! their disgust was apparent!0

I had to make the kitchen off-limits to the dogs. Whenever I cooked a roast the smell would cause them to come racing in expecting food. They fell over each other on more than one occasion. :rotfl:0 -
Years ago, mum had two terrier types dogs and a cat. One Sunday, we're all relaxing in the lounge after a roast dinner. when mum says "where's the mob (collective term for the dogs and cat) they're very quiet?" So I go and peek round the kitchen door to discover cat on worktop tucking in to the leftover roast and pushing bits off the edge of the worktop to the dogs. Had the cat tucked in without sharing, the dogs would have gone ballistic so throwing them a few scraps kept them quiet and allowed cat to eat more than he would otherwise have been able to get away with.0

My dogs react to the beeping of the oven timer
Soon as that goes off there is a rush to the kitchen. 0
