Just wanted to share my experience of Mytyres.co.uk. I tried to place an order today, only to have both my American Express & Mastercard cards refused as a payment method. I phoned their customer service and was told that I could pay by BACS transfer. Needless to say I cancelled my order, but am now a bit concerned as I entered both credit card details and obviously my name and address.

Fear not NaN, your details are safe and secure.
I've used them many times over the years without a single hiccup, well one which wasn't their doing and they acted very honourably by refunding an overcharge by a third party which they presumably then pursued... i won't bore you with the details.
I used an ordinary credit card previously but more recently they now take Paypal which makes the transaction as simple as possible.
Try again with them, they are a good company to deal with, i won't hesitate to recommend them 100%.0 -
Always use them for my tyres i am sure it was just a one-off0

People reporting similar experiences on BabyBMW.net. I've used them with no problem as have others on the same forum, it's strange.0

Thanks guys. I tried again, with a different credit card this time and it seems to have worked. Had a confirmation email and expected delivery date, so fingers crossed. Must've been an error with their system at the time I tried to place the order or possibly that I tried to pay with my Amex card, which I know a lot of retailers don't like to accept.
Thanks again.£400+ in my £2 coin tablet fund0 -
Another thumbs up from me. Ive used them for years and had no problems. Very fast service and half the price of local tyre places. The only problem I find now is that whereas local tyre places used to happily fit tyres I supplied myself for £5 a wheel, now they charge upto £12 a wheel!0

The problem is if we keep buying online, they're either be shut, or charging even more.0 -

Fair comment, but they have to ask why we are buying online, and it isn't just price.
It's the snotty attitude encountered at many tyre places when you want a specific tyre following research.
If you don't want the garbage chinese ditchfinder's they 'recommend' or the world's most expensive michelins, they start making smart alec comments.
Ask them for winter tyres and they look at you as if you're mad.0 -

Yes, but they'll still make the smart alec comments when they're charging £15 to £20 next year to fit the tyres you've bought online from Germany.
You'll still be going though.0
