What is the cheapest deal for phone and broadband where all calls (at any time of day) are included in the monthly rate?

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • Thanks Heinz. From what I can see they are only quoting the cheapest line rentals, with calls as extra or only evening or weekend included. I have researched and BT seems to have the best package at £26 per month for phone and broadband. This includes national calls at any time of day. Do you think there is a better deal than that?

Broadband is exchange specific, so no-one can answer that question without knowing your exchange. Use the exchange search facility on samknows to find your available LLU options, these will be the cheapest deals, and many ISP's will offer a line rental and calls package add on (although don't assume that bundling is necessarily cheaper).
The BT Option 1 broadband has a fairly miserly 10Gb cap on it, that may or may not be sufficient for your needs.
And the line rental is only £9.99 if you pay a year upfront-otherwise it's £12.04, which brings the real price to around £28.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

For a new customer (who will not be able to get onto the £1.25/month paper-free discount), BT monthly lne rental is now £13.29 (£13.60 from 4 Jan 2011 due to the VAT increase).
