Help -search not working

I am trying to search this forum for "BT" & NTL", but I am getting "Sorry - no matches".

I'm sure this cannot be right !!

How does Search work on MSE ??

you need to search more than 3/4 characters i think

you need to use lower case and * as a wild card as it won't search for less than 4 letters

1) If I search for "BT" or "NTL" I get:

"Sorry - no matches".

2) If I search for BT* I get:

"The search term you specified (bt*) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.
If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific."

I think it should give this 2nd message at all times (so you know what's going on).
