Can anyone recommend a free host for a website please?
secondly - in the past I have done a few websites is there any advantage in using one of the free blogging sites over a general internet page format? Surely a blog site is more restrictive in design?
thank you

When you set up a blog, one of the very obvious and clear options is to choose to run it with "pages" or "posts".
If you run it with pages, you get to choose which page is the default one. So, you could create a website, with Wordpress, selecting "pages" and create 5 pages, which is your basic website. You can, of course, continue to produce thousands of pages, hierarchically structured.... and still use posts for other/further content of a more transient nature. I have one I've set up like this, I have all my main pages - and I use posts to post news, jobs and 'stuff'. The posts don't appear on the site unless you've arrived via Google to the post, or unless you find them via the menu structure, so they're not "in the way" of what is my main site.
I use Wordpress, it's exceedingly flexible when you poke it about.0 -
thanks very much... I'll have a look at word press.0
