I have had transferred some word documents from a PC to a disc so that I can save them onto my laptop.
I want to open and resave a document with a different title but not sure what I'm doing wrong as it keeps coming up with not responding. I have a feeling I need to change the drop down menu underneath where I put the name of the document but not sure what to change it to.
Can anyone shed any light on a complete novice?

Have you tried right clicking/single clicking the file and then renaming it?0

Ideally I was looking to save it as a seperate document so I still had the original. I also wanted to actually save it to my laptop rather than saving everything to the disc.Did owe £9,951.96

Open a temporary folder on your new PC (I usually place it on my desktop as it's hard to ignore). Copy all the files on the disc and paste them to the temp file.
Rename as appropriate and then use Windows Explorer (<Win><E>) to drag the folder to where you want it.0 -
Or, open the document. Go the backstage menu and click "save as...", the change the title and save.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0
