Praise for PC World

Options
Hi,

I know there are numerous threads/posts relating to bad experiences with PC World and I felt like I should post about my positvie experience with them.

I recently switched from a macbook pro back to a windows laptop (sony vaio) due to software compatibility issues. When I came to use my external HD with the vaio I realised that I had formatted to Mac only so could not access any of the files.

As I had to return an unwanted present to PC World I thought I would ask if they could check that my files were still on the HD and ask for some advice on getting them off the HD and into windows compatible format.

They transferred all my files off the HD, reformatted the drive to windows format and put all my files back on and they did all this for no charge!

I was impressed by how helpful the staff were!

There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

I have bought the odd thing or two from PC World, usually when I need the products urgently. They are more expensive than Internet companies in my opinion, but they have rent and staff costs to pay.

Where I have had problems with faulty or wrong goods they have been exemplary and I hope they will be again in the future (touch wood).

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

I have to say that we had a problem with a printer that just stopped working (possible power supply problem). We had lost the box but had the receipt, so were hoping they would send it for repair. They immedately replaced it, and we were completely shocked.
    Best Regards

  • I don't think we should shout about this too much as someone in head office at PC World will hear and make all their staff act mean and miserly!:D;)

And the people at head office know a thing or two about acting miserly.

I must admit I've not had a problem with pc world. Last year I had probs with my then year old pc. It was just luckily under warranty.

I had my hard drive, motherboard, DVD drive replaced, by an engineer at my house. Didn't have to take it to them. Ended up with a nearly new pc.

I think PC World are the nicest and most efficient people in the cosmos. And the Tech Guys are out of this world.
