Amazon dilemma

Hi,
I ordered a load of books from amazon on 4th Dec. I waited and waited but they didn't arrive. I rang up to complain and they refunded me. Then, just before Xmas, the books arrived.
The reason for the refund is stated as:
'Reason for refund: Item arrived late',which is technically true.
So, am I obliged to inform amazon that I did receive the books?

Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.

Hi, I am sure you already know the answer to this question. This 'error' may not be picked up in the short term but there is always the chance that when the time comes it will be picked up by auditors.Be honest and either return them or ring up and pay for them !!!0

I have a similar situation here with some books & I'll be returning them as soon as the Post Offices are open again
no dilemma, I haven't paid for them, so they're not my property0 -
I had this with Play a few years ago- was sent standard post. I kept the items. Funnily enough, the thought to return it never crossed my mind. Do what your conscience tells you, it's your choice, there will be plenty of people on here who would keep them but would not post to say that, yet probably more who would tell you to do the right thing.0

I would phone them tell you have now received them but its too late and if they would like them back could they send you the pre paid return lables0

there's an option in the returns section to return an item that you've already been refunded for0 -
You know you have to inform them really.
On another note, you would be hopping mad in a couple of weeks if they suddenly realised their mistake and debited your card with the payment, you'd sharp be informing them then, wouldn't you.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
A friend did the same as you and received items after Amazon had refunded her. She had already complained about them ruining her Christmas plans and they told her to keep her items as a gesture of goodwill.
I guess it depends on the value of the order and whether you are a regular customer as far as they are concerned.0 -
I recieved a refund from Amazon for item arrived late just before Christmas and they requested a return or re-payment once item arrived.
Once it arrived just after Christmas I contacted them and they re-charged my card, only the decent thing to do imo they were decent enough to refund when item was supposed missing.0 -
Yes, I think a lot of people would keep the books regardless and just say nothing. I could justify keeping them by arguing against amazon's unfair monopolies etc.
Anyway, I'll let them know the books arrived. I predict that they'll probably charge me...Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
it depends if they have already claimed on the postal insurance fo loosing/not delivering the item to wether they will charge you.
totally up to you depends on the person and if they are good items! lolThanks every1 for making this website what it is, its helped me alot in the past!0
