Free Prescriptions Help Please? :(

Hello all.

I'm on income support and have been for a couple of years due to illness.

During this time, I've been entitled to free prescriptions.

However, a couple of days ago I received two letters about prescriptions on two different dates that the NHS say they are satisfied that I wasn't entitled to free prescriptions on these dates. I have never had a break in my income support and I know that income support is a qualifying reason for exemption from prescription costs.

I did get married in October 2010 and the dates of the prescriptions were before I got married so had my maiden name on them, instead of my new married name. Could this possibly be the reason that they couldn't verify my entitlement to free prescriptions?

I've sent back evidence that I was entitled on the dates they say I wasn't but what happens if they still believe I wasn't exempt, when I know that I was? I really can't afford to pay £80. :(

I had this once. Name was unchanged, entitlement unchanged. address and all circumstances unchanged. i rang them and it turned out someone had pressed one digit into the computer wrong in my postcode. Matter sorted out.

Yes. Marriage certificate, bank statement, various bills...etc.

I really do hope it's something simple like this. I worry about everything. :(
