htc desire hd update?

Hi, had my hd for nearly a week, today its told me an update is available it's:-
1.75.110.2_r and says it will improve system performance and camera feature enhancements

tried to google this update but aint coming up with anything

has anyone else had this notification?
How do i know it's safe to install?

and how can you tell if updates have come directly from htc and not network provider?

Sorry for all the questions but i am a smartphone newbie

Googling it comes up with a fair few references for me.
I don't have this particular phone but there should be a software update option somewhere, perhaps try and do it through there.

According to http://www.dialtosave.co.uk/mobile/news/2010/10/26/htc-release-firmware-update-for-desire-hd/ the HTC update is 1.32.405.3

I think the "405" portion identifies it as an HTC update and your number doesn't have that so I'm guessing it is a network provided update.
