urgent legal advice needed

hello not sure if this should be here but it does concern ebay. please move if required.
sorry i know its long
i used my ex partners ebay account about 4 weeks ago to buy some cards £4.50p before i used it i texted them to ask if it was ok and to text back if it was a problem. the next day i managed to sort out my paypal and transfered the 4.50 back to him. we split up 5 months ago because he attacked me and was very possesive and i had them charged.
since then we have spoke and recently his gran died and he came to my house crying and i allowed them in and supported him. tonight i recieved a phone from him saying he has just found out about the 4.50 and he is going to the police to have me arrested. i explained the situation but he just said no i am going to get you for this and abused me down the phone.
i am going on holiday in the morning with another man who is just a friend i think my ex has found out about this and wants me to suffer what do you think will the police charge me i am very worried now

  • I cant understand why you would do anything that would involve him:confused:

I dont know what the police will make of it. They will probably talk to you IF he calls them. He more than likely wants to spoil your holiday so DONT let him. It wont escalate into anything serious but you should know to avoid anything to do with him in the future.

Mmm.. on the face of it -

    1. It's only £4.50, for heaven's sake.
    2. How were you able to use the account? He must have given you login details, which he must have done willingly.

Don't fret too much. Have a nice holiday. Keep yourself safe - don't let yourself get in a position where he can attack you again.

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

Whats he going to tell the police, it would be his word against your text that he did not agree to use his paypal, and further more you have not stolen anything because you repaid the £4.50.

He is just trying to stir you up and worry you before you go on holiday.

    Enjoy yourself

I think it extremely doubtful that the police would get involved over £4.50, even if you had not paid it back.

Personally I am a little baffled that you did this though, using an ex's details for anything is almost asking for trouble, but I guess there's no point dwelling on that - you already know that! It's probably also technically illegal, but again I doubt that anything would get done about it - a verbal warning at most in such a minor case as this.

Enjoy your holiday, and when you get back ... sign up for your own eBay account!!
