Another big Opera fan here. Been using it since back in the days when it used to have banner ads in the browser to fund the free version.

I started using it when FF turned into a major memory Hog.

Super fast browsing without the Google Chrome police farming your private data, perfect! :D

Same here & I was getting loads of unresponsive scripts with FF,Nothing fixed it so I switched to Opera about 6 months ago & been using it ever since, although I'm on Opera 10.63..Think I'll upgrade to 11 now!:D

  • I rather like the tab stacking feature - I can see a use for it where you might have a long forum thread open and can use stacked tabs for different pages you have open. I like the list of closed tabs too.

I have noticed if renders slightly differently to FF/IE8/Chrome (which is no surprise as there is no consistency in browsers).

Just downloading. I've got the older version of opera on another partition I don't use very often.

    Cheers!

Sub, this is better than any previous version/ if you don't like just remove - but I think you will be impressed/

I do stress, I still have FF installed on all my other machines and I do like FF -- but wanted to try Opera 11 out on this new netbook as I read very favorable reviews esp. with regards to its speed -- and they are correct about the latter. Just awesome !

Because I didn't use very often, I never bothered with addons for Opera, but very pleased with whats available, as covers most of my needs.

Seems a lot lighter than FF. Feel almost guilty saying that. :D

Lol, know what you mean sub; and yes, maybe even more suitable for netbooks? Downloaded last month FF 4 beta and it's an awful mess imo -- hope the full version gets its act together -- otherwise all my machines will be migrating // You have been warned FF :D

Thanks for the tip - it looks very nice. Hadn't used Opera for many years!

Has anyone found a running spelling checker/dictionary for it, though?
