Can you download statements from your bank...?

Options
I am looking to change banks as I am with Smile and they do not have an option to download banks statements

So therefore looking for banks that do offer this facility as a) looking to change b) want to use software to have a clear view of my spending

Can you download statements from your bank...? and what format are they in...? OFX, QIF?

Why not save the online statements as MHT files? File/Save As MHT. That'll save the whole page in a single file and you can look at it or print it later whenever you like.

If you have Firefox you can get the unMHT plugin to make this option available. I think it's built in to the latest IE versions.

Of the various banks with which I have Internet Banking facilities, I'm not aware of any that offer a statement download. I just rely on copy/paste into an Excel spreadsheet.

    Nationwide - CSV
    Metro Bank - CSV
    Santander - CSV & QIF

    (OMG Santander wins!)
  • I know you can download these with Lloyds TSB Internet Banking but I am not sure of the format.
    David :)
£1 of debt is too much for me!

    That's easy to rectify. :)

A&L (Santander colours): Microsoft Money, Quicken, Microsoft Excel, CSV

First Direct: Quicken 97, Quicken 98 [m/d/y], Quicken 98 [d/m/y], Quicken 2000, Quicken 2001, Quicken 2002, Microsoft Money, Microsoft Works, Microsoft Excel, Lotus 123.

NatWest: Microsoft Money (OFX file); Microsoft Money 97 only (OFC file); Quicken 2001 onwards (OFX file); Sage Line 50 (OFX file); Microsoft Excel, Lotus 123, Text (CSV file).

Of these I prefer the online banking from NatWest.

With QFX/QIF/CSV etc you can import into a money management program :)

I wish Barclays did something like this but I think it is business customers only. Also annoying that they don't allow both paper and estatements.

As above, you can download statements from Natwest online banking, I do for both my accounts
Debt free and staying that way!

  • Hi,

Have any of you got Santander to work correctly with MS Money? It downloads Debits as Credits for me! - I wish!!

Amex works fine for me and Nationwide was OK til they pulled out.

Apologies if this is a dead thread...

Nationwide works fine now (I assume that's what you mean by "they pulled out"?). CSV and OFX I believe.
