Pound shops and VAT increase....

In £1 shops you will find that some items will simply disappear from sale as their profit margin shrinks. With other items they can probably absorb the loss.We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

I would imagine in pound shops that they make more than 2.1p or whatever the increase equates to on some items, on the other items where the margin is going to be too small they will simply stop selling them as a previous poster has put. I have noticed that in 2009 they used to do 4 cans/sweet items for £1 and in 2010 it was 3 items in this category, maybe they'll just do 2 for £1 like they do on the drinks. Quite a lot of their items aren't worth anywhere near £1 so they won't struggle that much!Life is like a box of chocolates..........you always seem to pick the hard ones!0

As I understand it, Poundland is going to start charging an entrance fee to pay for the extra 2.5p per item.
(but it was a good rumour, eh?)0 -
