Scottish power boiler care & Platinum fixed

I signed up to SP online platinum fixed 2014 8 weeks ago Wednesday and have still not had any info through the post or any dates for when my boiler inspection will take place.
When I signed up I was told that due to demand boiler inspections / service can take up to 6 weeks to complete, but 8 weeks I believe is taking the pi**.
Thing is my account is showing platinum fixed and I have been paying that rate per unit for over 7 weeks (which is higher that SP online saver rates) and what if my boiler was to break down now before they have carried out an inspection, I have already lost 2 months worth of cover as it stands.
How long can this go on for until they must honour the contract even though an inspection has not been undertaken, or will I be able to cancel my platinum fixed deal without penalty as they have not stuck to the 6 week agreement with regards to boiler cover kicking in.
Cheers guys for any help or anyone who has been/is in the same situation

Complete waste of money-cancel it (since they have exceed their own timescale) and use the money saved for an annual service from a local recommended RGI. The surplus you can put in the bank to call upon should you need an unscheduled call out.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Hi savers united
I have copied below an internal message in relation to the Homecare boiler service which was sent out prior to Christmas:
As you are more than aware this winter period has been particularly difficult for our customers and the freezing temperatures look set to continue. This unprecedented weather has led to difficulties in ensuring all customers receive their initial boiler inspection within the normal 28 day period from sign up. In order to ensure focus is given to those customers who experience breakdown of their boiler systems, resource has been prioritised to manage this. Therefore during this winter period it has been agreed with our service providers that all customers currently awaiting an Initial Inspection are assumed covered under the terms of their contract, without requiring an Initial Inspection.
I do apologise for any inconvenience that has been caused as a result of the delayed inspection.
Kind Regards

CANCELL. I was 22 days in december with out heating, scottish power sub contract the boiler cover out to a company called eaga. they are cowboys. had 4 different 'engineers . 2 twice. 3 times no shows when promised. wrong parts were ordered. then i was told it was a 2 man job and would take all day. so on day 22 at 6.30 pm 2 engineers returned and got the boiler working in 20 mins. And did not use any new parts. they are now in my shed. Eaga have lied the whole time to me . I would advise anyone not to take this cover. if you do your mental health will suffer.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::0

dont let them into your house! if your boiler is over 7 or 8 years old they will tell you its dangerous & you need to pay them £££££££ for one of these dreadful new condensing things that everyone in the trade knows will need replacing after about 5 or 6 years! yes they are more efficient in terms of gas usage than older boilers but they are also very unreliable & will cost you as much as the extra gas used by your old boiler in TWENTY YEARS!!!!
iF YOUR OLD BOILER IS WORKING, keep it AT ALL COSTS!:mad:0
